From
bar code related national standards and bar code printing quality indicators,
it can be seen that the bar code of a product is not a set of simple patterns, and
the book printing quality of a
product bar code is quite particular. In order to print out the quality of
qualified product barcodes, it is very important to adopt scientifically sound
print quality control.
1,
product bar code design
The
design of commodity barcodes should be based on the predictability of their
indicators, such as the uniqueness of coding, the collocation of blank spaces,
the width of blank spaces, the height of strips, the amplification factor, the
optical characteristics, and the catalogue
printing position. Fully consider that each indicator is in line with
national standards, but at the same time, it must take into account the beauty
of packaging and decoration.
2,
printing media and media
Commonly
used packaging materials, such as plain paper, cardboard, plastic film,
aluminum foil, tinplate, corrugated cardboard and some special substrates, can
be used as the printing carrier for commodity barcodes. However, it should be
noted that those narrow reflection materials should be avoided in the selection
of children book printing carriers,
and transparent, translucent, and poor coloring materials should be avoided. If
the packaging and decorating use these materials, the part of the bar code for
the printed goods should be surface-treated.
In
order to ensure the printing accuracy of commodity barcodes, printing materials
with good dimensional stability, moderate ink dispersion, low permeability,
smoothness and smoothness should be selected. For rougher corrugated and woven
bags, barcode labels can be used. When printing bar codes on tinplate and
aluminum foils, full consideration should be given to their high temperature
resistance.
When printing book barcodes, choose the ink
that matches the carrier, and pay attention to the uniformity and diffusion of
the ink. Inhomogeneous ink uniformity will result in insufficient penetration
of oil or ink, making the edges of the printed image blurry and smearing,
making the bar code symbol's empty size superb. If a specular or transparent
material is used as a barcode carrier, two inks with completely different
absorbencies should be used.
3,
product barcode film
Consider
and check the consistency of the following when customizing or producing bar
code films: Product barcode type (EAN-13 or EAN-8), identification code on
film, tape width reduction, positive or negative film, and film On or under.
Which kind of film should be used depends on the needs of the plate making and
the process. In general, the negatives are made by using Toppan and Toppan, and
the gravure and gravure are produced. Direct printing (except for stencils) is
selected on the top of the film, and direct printing and indirect printing are
used to select the film under the stencil.
4,
printability experiment
The
so-called print suitability test is intended to verify the adaptability between
the printing conditions (the sum of devices, carriers, inks, processes,
environments, and the like of the printed product bar code) and to determine
the bar width compensation of the bar code film and bar code symbol computer
graphics files. Experiments such as the amount of design parameters.
Suitability test must be strictly conducted according to GB/T18805-2002
"Barcode Printing Suitability Test". The printing conditions of the
bar code printing suitability experiment should be the same as the printing
conditions of the official printing bar code. 5, printing method
According
to the plate making form, the printing method can be classified into
letterpress printing, planographic printing, gravure printing, and stencil
printing. The printing method features and practice prove that the lithographic
and gravure printed product barcodes have good quality stability and high
dimensional accuracy, and are suitable for printing commodity barcodes with
different magnification factors, and are the best choice for printing commodity
barcodes. The traditional letterpress printing has poor stability and large
dispersion of dimensional errors, which is not suitable for printing commodity
barcodes. If the product packaging and decoration must use letterpress
printing, in order to ensure the quality of the product bar code, it is
recommended to use the lithographic product bar code first, and then use
letterpress printing other decorations. Stencil printing can be used to print
product bar codes with a larger zoom factor.
6,
printing quality inspection
The inspection of the quality of bar code symbol printing
is an important process to ensure the quality of the product bar code. Product
barcodes should be checked for print quality before trial printing and final
product shipment. The inspection shall be conducted strictly in accordance with
GB/T 18348-2001 "Product Quality Test of Barcode Symbols".
