The catalogue is a book printing mainly shown by pictures. The catalogue printing is also applicable to the company's propaganda. Next,
we will introduce what printing preparation should be done after the catalogue
design.
After the catalogue is designed, there is a
lot to be prepared before printing.
1: small sample is used to display the
layout of the general effect map, very little omitted details, relatively
rough, is the most basic things. A straight line or water ripple indicates the
position of the text, and a box indicates the position of the graph. Then, the
selected sample is further developed.
2: in the sample, the artist draws the
actual size of the advertisement, puts forward the final words of the candidate
title and subtitle, arranges the illustrations and photos, and USES horizontal
lines to indicate the text.
3: to the final draft of this step, the
production is already very fine, almost as the finished product. The final
draft is generally detailed, with color photographs, a defined font style, size
and small images for use, plus a photojet envelope. Now, the final copy of the
typesetting and image elements are executed by the computer, printing products
like four-color samples. At this stage, all image elements should be finally
implemented.
4: the catalogue shows the look and feel of
the manual, multi-page materials or the display of the selling point being held
in the hand. Using a color marker pen and a computer cleaner, the artist places
the sample on hard paper by hand, then cuts and folds it up to size. For
example, the sample manual is page-by-page bound and looks exactly the same as
the actual finished product.
5. For the final draft to be copied by the
printing house, the words and graphics must be placed in the correct position. Now,
most designers use computers to do this part of the work, no need for the
imposition of the process. However, some art books still retain the traditional
pattern of layout. On a blank page, black font and art elements are marked
according to their respective positions, and a transparent paper is used to
cover the color tone and position.
6. Finally, the top management of the enterprise
shall review the selected concepts and texts.
These six points are what needs to be
prepared after the design before printing. What needs to be prepared before
printing is also very important. It should not be rushed because of its
complexity.
